how many minutes in a day

How Many Minutes in a Day? The average person goes through the day doing the things they have to do and the things they want to do without really thinking about how much time they’re spending doing them. And how to utilize your time?

Many of us don’t care, either, except when we feel our time is wasted or there isn’t enough of it in our days to get everything done. But knowing how much time you spend on something can benefit you personally and professionally.

How Many Minutes in a Day?

Most people say they need more daily time to do what they need and want. But is that true? While there are 168 hours a week, most people sleep for 7-8 hours.

That leaves roughly 120 hours (5 days) to work with. Let’s assume you work 8-hour days, with 16 waking hours each day.

How many minutes in a day? There are 1440 minutes in a day. So you would end up with 10080 minutes in a week or 43800 minutes in a month. That’s not too shabby!

Analyzing your time

It’s hard to keep track of how many minutes you spend daily. It is the perfect exercise if you are always looking for more productive ways.

Start by writing down all the activities you do on an average day. It could include everything from brushing your teeth to taking out the trash. Next, note how each activity takes five minutes or two hours.

Then, add up all the time spent on each task to see what percentage they represent of your day. It might surprise you!

This exercise will allow you to see where there are opportunities for improvement and clarify what activities take up most of your time so that you can plan accordingly.

Prioritizing based on numbers

Based on the average person’s 24-hour day consisting of 1440 minutes, here are the numbers that you can use:

Suppose it takes less than two minutes to complete a task. It can be as simple as washing your coffee mug or taking out the trash. Even if other more important tasks need to be done, these small tasks will take up little time and make you feel accomplished when completed.

It should be considered a high priority if it takes between 2 and 10 minutes to complete a task. These tasks may include organizing your inbox or sorting through papers on your desk.

It should be considered a low priority if it takes more than 10 minutes to complete a task. For example, writing emails, drafting reports, and other paperwork that requires time and effort to meet should be a low priority as they take up more time than they are worth. These tasks can easily be delegated.

Setting Goals

To set goals for your day, you first need to figure out how many minutes in a day there are. It can be done by counting all the hours and then dividing them by 60.

For example, if there are 24 hours a day, there are 1440 minutes (or 2300 if counting military time). You will then want to break these minutes into different parts of the day and allocate them accordingly.

For example, an hour could be allocated as:

Three business calls -2 meetings-1 work session-1 appointment-20 minutes break-30 minute lunch

It might seem overwhelming at first, but this is just an example.

You may have much more or less on your plate depending on your job, and with that comes more or less allotted time during the day.

There’s no correct answer but breaking it up allows you to tackle each task without feeling overwhelmed or forgetting anything important!
